Welcome!!

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the World Salsa Federation, Inc., we would like to welcome everyone to the 2005 World Salsa Federation Championships.  This year I am sure we will celebrate with record attendance in our wonderful new facility, the Miccosukee Resort and Gaming in Miami Florida. 

Over this festive and competitive weekend, we will host 10 World Salsa Championships!   Again this year, we are proud to announce that we will host the WSF Pro/Am Adult Championships and the WSF Pro/Am Junior Championships.   These competitions have various dances, ages, and levels to compete in.  Also, for the first time, the WSF will host the 2005 AAU National Championships in Salsa, Lindy Hop, Hustle, Argentine Tango, Swing, and DanceSport, a qualifying event for the 2006 AAU Junior Olympic Games.  There is something for everyone!! 

During the exciting weekend, the WSF has put together a fantastic array of Salsa experts in almost every style imaginable.  With workshops being offered from beginners through advanced levels, and dance parties every night, meeting new people and making new friends will be unavoidable.   

If this is a return visit for you, we are glad you have chosen to join us again this year.  If you are a first time attendee, we hope you will enjoy all that the Miccosukee Resort and Gaming facilities have to offer, and will make this an annual pilgrimage. 

The WSF is committed to providing new inroads in Salsa worldwide from certifying teachers, giving awards to amateurs for excellence, training certified Judges, and having a basis for Salsa as a sport as well as a recreational activity.  The WSF is proud to have Salsa and its syllabus as the official syllabus for the AAU Junior Olympic Games.

Special Notice

There are only 302 hotel rooms available at the Hotel Convention Center.  The nearest alternative hotel is about a 25 minute drive as we are at the edge of the beautiful Everglades, so please make your reservations early as we expect a sell out!  You can have up to 4 people to a room as there are 2 queen size beds per room.  The hotel room rate if you book directly is $95 plus 8.75% tax per night. 

2005 LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS AND WSF HONOREES

The WSF is proud to announce that ELBA DIAS will receive the WSF Salsa Dance Lifetime Achievement Award and HANSEL MARTINEZ will receive the WSF Salsa Music Lifetime Achievement Award at this years event.
